The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for New York City and its surrounding areas, in effect from 1 p.m. Sunday, January 19, through 4 a.m. Monday, January 20, with the steadiest snowfall expected Sunday evening.

With winter upon us and temperatures expected to stay near or below freezing for the coming weeks, we want to remind you how you can protect campus spaces from damaging situations, such as frozen or burst pipes.

A drought warning has been declared for New York City and surrounding areas. Residents are encouraged to reduce water usage to slow the depletion of reservoir levels and help delay or prevent declaration of a drought emergency.

All other campus gates will be closed.

Beginning at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, November 14, access to the Morningside campus will be limited to CUID holders only with entry at the pedestrian gates at Broadway and 116th and Amsterdam and 116th, along with the Wien Gate on 116th between Amsterdam and Morningside Drive.

Effective as of December 21, 2023, regular gate hours have resumed at the Morningside campus. Note that there may be future instances that necessitate the implementation of gate closures or access restrictions.
