Gas Leak, Power Outage, and Other Building Issues

If you encounter any unsafe conditions on campus, call Public Safety:

Building Issues & Power Outage Quick Tips

  • If you smell gas, leave the area immediately.
  • Do not use lights, phones, or electrical switches 
  • Stay calm
  • Use flashlight (not candles)
  • Unplug electronics
  • Report outage 

 

  • Use emergency button/phone or your own device to call Public Safety
  • Do NOT force doors
  • Wait for help 
  • Avoid standing water
  • Turn off nearby electronics
  • Protect belongings
  • Report immediately 
  • Treat all alarms as real
  • Evacuate immediately
  • Do not re-enter until cleared 
  • Stay away from damaged areas
  • Do not enter or re-enter unsafe spaces 
  • Close windows/doors
  • Dress for conditions
  • Avoid space heaters
  • Report issue to Facilities
