If you encounter any of these conditions on campus, call Facilities for urgent concerns and Public Safety for emergencies or dangerous conditions.
Building Issues & Power Outage Quick Tips
- If you smell gas, leave the area immediately.
- Do not use lights, phones, or electrical switches
- Stay calm
- Use flashlight (not candles)
- Unplug electronics
- Report outage
- Use emergency button/phone or your own device to call Public Safety
- Do NOT force doors
- Wait for help
- Avoid standing water
- Turn off nearby electronics
- Protect belongings
- Report immediately
- Treat all alarms as real
- Evacuate immediately
- Do not re-enter until cleared
- Stay away from damaged areas
- Do not enter or re-enter unsafe spaces
- Close windows/doors
- Dress for conditions
- Avoid space heaters
- Report issue to Facilities
