Important Update Regarding Classes and Essential Personnel

January 25, 2026

With the winter weather expected to continue into tomorrow, Columbia University is pivoting to remote instruction on Monday, January 26, for all classes on our Morningside and Manhattanville campuses. Students will hear directly from their schools and instructors with additional details.

For CUIMC, classes are remote for the College of Dental Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the Mailman School of Public Health. Fundamentals Phases classes for the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons will be remote until 12:00 p.m., and in-person thereafter. VP&S clerkships and clinical rotations will proceed as scheduled. Students should plan to attend their clerkships and clinical rotations on Monday unless notified directly by their clinical supervisors and/or clerkship directors. Teaching clinic operations are closed all day for the College of Dental Medicine. If students and trainees have any questions, please contact your instructors, clinical supervisors, clerkship directors, or clinical teams directly.

Essential personnel are expected to report to work, consistent with University Policy. If you have any questions about where you are working during the snow, or whether or not your position is classified as essential, please check with your supervisor. All other employees are expected to work remotely to the extent possible.

The University’s Emergency Management Operations Team (EMOT) is monitoring the status of the winter storm and will be providing additional updates and details on campus operations.
