Here are the results:
- 44% are not yet sure of their plans
- 35% plan to telecommute OR may telecommute
- 10% plan to drive to campus
- 4% plan to take mass transit (carpool or MTA shuttle to subway or other)
- 7% will definitely be on vacation/away from campus OR are considering taking vacation
For those of you who are still unsure of your plans if there is a strike, we strongly encourage you to speak to your supervisor about telecommuting or using vacation or personal days.
Should telecommuting or taking vacation not be an option due to University policy, operational needs or otherwise, the University is offering some alternative services for Nassau and Suffolk residents who work at Columbia. EMOT has written to those of you in Nassau and Suffolk as of noon today, July 17, to share details on these services.
While we hope that a strike is avoided and none of this will be necessary, we are happy to be able to offer these services should a strike take place. Whatever your plans, please travel safely.
