The Air Quality Health Advisory due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires in effect for the New York City region has been extended through the end of the day tomorrow (Friday, June 9). Current health guidance suggests wearing properly fitted, high-quality masks (e.g., N95 or KN95) when outdoors to help reduce exposure and to limit outdoor activity as much as possible.
With that guidance in mind, Columbia’s campuses remain open with normal operations tomorrow. Students and staff in high-risk categories should alert your professor or manager if traveling to campus tomorrow creates a heightened risk to you. Please monitor your email for any changes that may impact your personal circumstances.
