An Air Quality Alert due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires remains in effect for the New York City region through the end of the day Thursday, June 8. Current health guidance suggests wearing properly fitted, high-quality masks (e.g. N95 or KN95) when traveling outdoors for significant periods to help reduce exposure and to limit outdoor activity as much as possible.
With that guidance in mind, there will be normal operations on Columbia’s campuses on Thursday, June 8. Students and staff in high-risk categories should alert your professor or manager if traveling to campus tomorrow creates a heightened risk to you. Please monitor your email for any changes that may impact your personal circumstances.

To report an emergency on campus 24/7, call Public Safety at 212-854-5555 at Morningside, 212-853-3333 at Manhattanville, or 911 immediately.
We encourage you to continue to stay informed and exercise caution when traveling to and from campus over the next few days.
